
Lucan Lopez Eugenio is a professional librarian at the University Library of UP Diliman and a master's student at the UP School of Library and Information Studies. As a member of the Gender and Development Committee of the University Library, he actively contributes to initiatives that promote inclusivity and representation in the field. With a background in archival studies and project management, Lucan has led efforts to preserve and document historically significant materials, particularly those that amplify underrepresented voices.
As the project manager of Speaking Out in the Stacks: Oral History Project of LGBTQIA+ Librarians, Lucan oversees all aspects of the project, including planning, content gathering, transcription, audio editing, platform development, and promotion. His knowledge ensures that the project remains inclusive, accessible, and impactful for researchers, educators, and the wider community. Lucan’s work is grounded in a commitment to documenting histories, fostering inclusivity, and advancing LIS through research-driven and community-centered approaches.

Project Adviser
Bono Olgado, PhD [bō-nō] (he/him/siya) is an assistant professor of archives and records management at the University of the Philippines School of Library and Information Studies where he is also the Chair of its Gender and Development Committee. A committed mentor and educator, Bono has championed diversity and inclusion across LIS spaces in the Philippines, drawing from his interdisciplinary background and lived experiences. His work bridges pedagogy, advocacy, and scholarship, empowering new generations of information professionals to center justice, care, and solidarity in their practice. One of his proudest moments was publicly coming out to over a thousand Filipino librarians during his keynote at the 2017 Philippine Librarians Association Inc. Congress, titled "Coming Out of the Stacks: The Role of Information Professionals in the LGBTQ+ Movement."
