Yes! One of the most significant experiences I’ve had was being part of the Gender and Development (GAD) Committee ng University Library ng UP Diliman, kung saan we focus on different advocacy and initiatives para sa lahat genders sa university. Active ako, I must say, sa programs namin, and I’ll continue to support these initiatives. Last year, I attended my first Pride March in UP, not just because I’m part of the community or dahil event namin siya, but because I really wanted to be there and help advocate for what we are fighting for. Sobrang solid ng experience, seeing so many people coming together for the same cause. Right now, we’re planning a specialized gender sensitivity training for our unit, the University Library in UP Diliman. The budget is already approved, so we’re just waiting for the final plans on how to implement it. The goal is to help our staff better understand gender-related concerns and know how to address them properly when dealing with clients. Since nasa UP tayo, we should be aware sa mga ultimong maliit na concern like pronouns or kung paano i-address yung mga clients. Aside from that, may regular projects din kami, like 'GADcast,' where we talk about different gender-related issues. It’s not exactly about libraries, but it’s accessible to the public and a great platform para sa mga importanteng discussions. Sobrang fulfilling maging part ng initiative tulad neto, and excited ako sa magiging projects namin in the future.
