I see LGBTQIA+ representation in libraries and LIS education growing even more in the future. Right now, andami nang efforts to make libraries more inclusive, from expanding collections to include more diverse voices, to creating programs and safe spaces for the community. And I think mas magiging norm ito moving forward, sana. For LIS education naman, I hope na magkaroon ng more discussions and courses that focus on gender inclusivity and diversity in libraries. Hindi lang siya dapat side topic sa isang lecture or mga seminar, kailangan talaga maging part ng curriculum, masimulan sana dito sa UP SLIS, especially sa subjects related to user services, collection development, and even management. The profession is evolving, given na yan, and dapat yung education natin naka-align din sa realities ng different communities we serve na hindi natin matutunan kapag mismo sa work na. In libraries naman, I see more LGBTQIA+ professionals stepping into leadership roles and pushing for policies that support inclusivity. Hindi lang tayo nandito to participate, but to lead and create real change. Dapat may mag step-up na LGBTQIA+ libarian na maging head ng library and push for a inclusive protocols within the library. Kasi tayo ang nakaka eexperience eh, so dapat may mag step up na member ng community na gagawa ng programs about it. At the end of the day, gusto ko ng future where LGBTQIA+ representation in LIS is not just about visibility, but actual impact, where we’re not just included, but really shaping the profession to be more open, diverse, and responsive to all kinds of users.
