I don't know actually, because it’s more about my personality than my identity. Maybe in some ways, pero hindi totally. Like, I’ve always been the type of person na gusto maging involved sa feeling ko kailangan ako (bida bida yarn?), kaya I naturally gravitated towards leadership roles and initiatives. Example nyan, back in college, I took on leadership roles in FLIPP, where I helped organize events like LibSpeak and networking opportunities for future LIS professionals. Yung experience na yun taught me how to manage projects, mag collaborate with different people, and yon advocate for the profession. Then when I started working, mas na-develop yung engagement ko with the field. In UERM Medical Library, I handled reference inquiries and technical services, which exposed me to the everyday challenges of medical librarianship. Eventually, when I moved to UP, mas naging involved ako sa archival work, committee works, and ngayon sa research. Also, gumagawa din ako promotional materials pero like super basic. Pero in terms of challenges or opportunities naman, I don’t think my identity played a major role, mas yung drive ko to engage sa ibang tao and contribute sa field. Siguro kung meron man, it’s more on how I value inclusivity and representation in LIS (odiba ilalaban ko talaga yang advocacy ko). That’s why I pursued projects like oral history, kasi I want to ensure that diverse voices, especially from the LGBTQIA+ community, are documented and recognized.
